Adding an avatar will make it easier for you and others to identify you on SmartStat services. Just like any online service, your avatar is an image that represents you. To get started adding an avatar, click on Account in the main navigation.

Picking the right picture

It’s important that you pick the right avatar. Your avatar is a 1:1 ratio (square) and any images outside that ratio will automatically be cropped and adjusted. For the best results, we recommend you use a square image and/or crop the image the way you want ahead of time before uploading. We also recommend not using any image smaller than 250 x 250 (pixels). The image you upload must follow community guidelines and must not contain nudity or be offensive.

Supported Formats

The formats we support for your team logo are the following extensions: PNG, JPG, JPEG, GIF

Add / Edit Avatar

Once you are under the account page, there are two ways to open the avatar pop up. You can either click on the avatar on that page or you can click on avatar under the personal information tab. Doing either of these will pop up a box where you can add/edit/remove your avatar

Upload

This is the first button and it allows you to choose a file from your computer to upload. Choose the picture you want and the system will automatically upload and make all the adjustments.

Webcam

This is the second blue button and allows you to take a picture with a webcam. You must make sure you grant permission to the browser to use the webcam, but once you do you will see a live feed of what your camera sees. Once you are satisfied with the shot, click capture and the image will be saved and added to your account.

Remove

The red button with the trashcan removes your avatar.

Quick Troubleshooting

My image uploads but when I change/refresh the page, my old avatar is there

This is a common thing that is due to browser caching. To save your computer from having to download the image multiple times while you are navigating between pages, your browser will usually store (cache) common images so it doesn’t have to download it every time. Clear your browser’s cache or wait a little bit (depending on your settings) and the new image should be seen.

I get an error after uploading, but everything appeared to work

You may get an error after uploading a new image but everything appears to have worked. This can be caused by a number of different things, but some browsers dont always report a successful upload which triggers the error even though it worked.
