If the team you loaded is a rugby team, the rugby stat controller will be loaded.

 

Starting a game

Once you’re logged into the team, under the Game list you will see the games loaded into the app. Choose the game you want and tap “Start Game”.

 

Setting up Game

The rugby controller supports 7s and 15s. The app will automatically know which game based on the number of starting players. Tap and select all the players starting. Once you’ve reached the correct number (7 or 15) you will be able to click next. You will be prompted to see if you’re ready to start of exit. Once you hit Start Game, the game clock will start, so be sure to only click it when you are ready to start the game clock.

 

Controller Layout

On the top of the screen, you will see the game clock and possession. Tapping on the game clock is a shortcut to pausing the timer.  Tapping on possession will manually toggle possession. If there is no possession, you will be prompted to choose who has possession.

Main Screen

On the main controller screen, you will see two types of buttons. The top buttons are the “Actions” these are the stat points you are recording. The other set is the players. The OP button represents the opponent. This can be used to track certain opponent actions, such as trys.

 

Timer

On this screen, you will see the current game time as well as three buttons.

Pause / Resume

This will toggle the game clock.

Halftime

This will pause the game and record halftime in the game log

End Game

This will end the game. You will not be able to resume if you exit the game.

 

Game Log

This shows all the stats being recorded. If for any reason you need to remove a record, simply tap on the trashcan to remove it.

 

Substitutions

This screen allows you to sub players in and out. First, you will choose the player you are taking out and then you will select the player coming in.

 

Settings

Sound

This will control if the app plays sounds.

Auto Possession

This determines if the app will automatically change the possession based on the pattern of actions.

Color Code

This feature highlights buttons based on your team’s possession.

Tackle Lock

This feature makes tackle the default action when you’re on defense. This makes it easier without having to keep tapping tackle.

 

Actions

Try – Conversion – Result

If a try is made, click Try and choose the player (or opponent). The next auto action will be a conversion. Choose who is making the conversion. Once you choose who did the conversion, you will be prompted to choose if the conversion was successful or failed. The next auto action will be a kickoff.

 

Kick

Kick off

Choose if you won or lost possession on the kick off. If you are kicking to the opponent, your team would lose possession. If you kick off and keep possession choose Win.

Kick for touch – Lineout

Choose the player that did the kick for touch and choose if you lost or won the Lineout.

Kick to advance

Choose if you won or lost possession

Penalty Kick

Choose the player that did the penalty kick and choose if you lost or won the Lineout

 

Drop Goal

Choose the player that made the drop goal.

 

Penalty

Choose the player or opponent that made the penalty.

 

Knock

Choose the player or opponent that made the knock. This will trigger a scrum.

 

Scrum

Choose if the scrum was won or lost.

 

Forward Pass

Choose the player or opponent that made the forward pass. This will trigger a scrum.

 

Lineout

Choose if the lineout was won or lost.

 

Maul

Choose if the maul was won or lost.

 

Ruck

Choose if the ruck was won or lost. If you win it will start tracking phases.

 

Tackle

Choose the player or opponent that made the tackle.

 

Yellow Card / Red Card

If a player gets a yellow card or red card, simply tap on the player and you will be able to choose the card.
